What a day it had been! Troubles seemed to roll in without granting her a moment’s respite.
She grabbed her phone and glanced at the caller ID. It displayed Nathan’s name.
Immediately she answered the call, Nathan’s tone turned serious.
“I saw the news on the Internet as well as the announcement from Angle Intl.”
Lucinda chuckled.
“So, you’re calling to convince me to give up on Dwayne?”
There was a brief pause on the other end before Nathan spoke again.
“I’ve actually figured out Dwayne’s whereabouts. Will you like to go see him?”
She was taken aback.
She had intended to instruct her men to locate Dwayne, but Nathan had beaten her to it.
Before she could respond, he went on, “Now, if you’re interested, come downstairs. I’m in the parking lot of Angle Intl.”

“You’re in the parking lot? Waiting for me?
I must admit, you’re quite something!”
Nathan sounded delighted on the other end of the line.
“Rule No. 2 of our family is to always prioritize you. How could I not be proactive?”
Satisfied, Lucinda smiled.
“You’re becoming more obedient by the day.
Perhaps, the ferule at home won’t be of any use soon.”
“Then I’ll burn it as well as the washboard tomorrow.”
“No way,” she firmly declined, thinking it best to keep them, just in case they became necessary in the future.
“Hold on. I need to grab my bag first.”
A few minutes later, she descended in the elevator to the parking lot. Her eyes caught sight of the familiar car in the garage and the handsome man leaning against it.
When Nathan saw her, he opened the passenger door, inviting her in.
